Nitiya will moderate the Entertainment Marketing Panel
In 2010, Nitiya Walker left Brooklyn to obtain an undergraduate degree as a Posse Leadership Scholar at Babson College on a $250,000 scholarship. Pursuing her love for media she was selected out of hundreds of applicant to be apart of the competitive Viacom Media Networks Summer Associate Program with 9 other individuals focused in digital media. Nitiya currently works full time at Viacom Media Networks, which owns the millennial and pop cultural brands: BET, MTV, VH1, Nick, CMT, and more.
Also socially conscious, Nitiya was inspired by her study aboard trip to the Albukhary International University in Malaysia. While there, she learned about Malaysian Billionaire, Tan Sri Albukhary, who created a University using his personal wealth to provide underprivileged students an education. Humbled while living at the University, she began to see money as a tool to help others achieve their dreams.
She believed it was her duty to help ease the financial burdens of those in her generation; therefore she created a scholarship program to help teen girls obtain local and national scholarships called Seeds of Fortune Inc. and a blog Walker Takes On Business, highlighting successful entrepreneurs, influencers, financial tips, and the intersection between media and business.
Seeds of Fortune Inc. is a scholarship program helping minority teen girls apply for college scholarships, teach career and financial management skills. Seeds of Fortune Inc. was invited to attend the 2016 White House United State of Woman Summit and was the 2016 Semi Finalist for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Change the World Competition.
